/// Biography of GRAFFMATT ///

Born in 1986, GRAFFMATT is a French artist from Chambéry, in Savoie.

Graduated from the art school: La Martinière-Diderot in 2006 (Lyon), he specialized in graphic design and video, but his main activity very quickly became painting. He navigates between personal work and artistic commissions without losing his personality.

In love with Street Art and Hip-Hop culture, GRAFFMATT develops broad techniques and explores several media (collage, kraft, cardboard, canvas, etc.) always with his main source of inspiration: the urban scene.

He is also inspired by street fashion, a trend referred to as street style or street fashion. Even if he gives more preference to the model than to the style of clothing, he retains above all the authenticity of the moment, taken from life, without any other artifices than those of the natural appearance and the outside light.

During the Covid, he produced a canvas for the benefit of the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris entitled “Last round” which shows a nurse with boxing gloves, determined to knock out the Coronavirus. “I had the click by listening to a title by rapper Kool Shen. He sings that you should never give up but always stand up. … I did not imagine such enthusiasm! Even on social networks, the work is very shared and commented on...” This work will become the cover of the book retracing the history of the SAATO project in support of the Public Hospital.
