In this delicate work, painted in acrylic on a teakwood panel, Kaldea explores a more intimate facet of her artistic universe — far from monumental walls, yet equally rich in meaning. Stepping away from urban bustle, she offers a moment of gentleness, embodied by a chick nestled in a floral porcelain teacup, surrounded by daisies and blades of grass that seem to sprout spontaneously within this miniature world.

The support — a raw wood panel — plays a key role. It grounds the scene in a living, textured, and warm material, subtly contrasting with the fineness of the painted elements. The wood becomes an organic frame for a moment of visual grace. The composition, both controlled and balanced, combines an appearance of innocence with true pictorial sensitivity.

The Asian influence, often present in Kaldea’s work, emerges here through the delicacy of the porcelain and the attention given to floral patterns. There’s a touch of Japanese wabi-sabi in this simple yet beautiful scene, where fragility meets nature. The brightness of whites and blues, balanced with the vivid greens and the warmth of the chick’s plumage, creates a soft and luminous chromatic harmony — true to Kaldea’s pursuit of “emotional depth” through color.

The stylized heart in a comic-like speech bubble, hovering above the scene, adds a contemporary and tender touch — almost pop — reminding us that Kaldea also draws from urban culture. This graphic detail acts as a discreet signature: a universal message of love, simple and direct.

Though modest in size, this piece is immense in the emotion it evokes. It shows Kaldea’s ability to touch the viewer with minimal elements, without relying on spectacle. She proves here that she can transition seamlessly from mural to intimate object, from large scale to poetic detail — without ever losing her distinct voice or her visual integrity.

/// Biography of KALDEA ///

Kaldea is a French artist, who lives in Paris. She has been painting on canvas since the early 2000s. She quickly found her unique style, which will evolve over time. In 2011, a professional opportunity in Germany allowed him to paint on larger surfaces, such as containers or cars. She then moves very quickly to the walls, which offer her greater opportunities to express herself artistically.
The meeting of diverse cultures and people is a great asset for her, an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Since her beginnings in urban art, Kaldea has become a key artist in the field with, to her credit, several participations in international festivals – from London to Bangkok, via Zagreb, Munich or Lisbon – in which she works as much on canvas only on the facade. His artistic universe is tinged with Asian, ethnic, futuristic and Art Deco influences, which makes it unique. For her, each work must provoke a deep emotion in the viewer, thanks to an original, luminous and deep chromatic theme.
