BIOGRAPHY:

Brusk was born in Lyon in 1976. He is first and foremost a lover of drawing. It was in 1991 that this love led him to graffiti and its subversive world. Brusk is a multifaceted artist, working as a graffiti artist, muralist, painter, draftsman, sculptor, but above all, a storyteller of a world adrift, whose suffering and injustices he sublimates through an explosive and impactful aesthetic. Brusk's creativity has constantly evolved since 1991, but it is clear that the artist's style is marked by the use of two techniques that are almost omnipresent in his work: dripping and tearing, which very often fragment the representation of the world that the artist presents to us. From this alteration of the motif through tears and drips emerges a lightness and gentleness that reveal a world in which it seems possible to soften, to reconcile, to love, and even to hope for the advent of a better world. An ambiguity arises between a colorful and luminous form and a rebellious, acidic, sometimes even very dark background—a statement that denounces the dysfunctions of our modern societies, an inner revolt that transforms the ugliness of this world into an explosion of beauty, a true pictorial oxymoron that restores our hope. To reduce Brusk's work to tears and drips would therefore be a mistake, since the artist finely crafts a universe that is both light and brutal, aptly confronts nature and culture, and compels us to grasp the monstrosity of our world with a benevolent gaze free from all negativity. Brusk is an essential artist on the street art scene, who enjoys widespread recognition in the art market.
