Biography:

Guy Denning (born in 1965, Bristol, UK) is a British contemporary artist known for his politically engaged work that bridges expressive oil painting and street art. A self-taught artist, Denning began painting in his teenage years, influenced by expressionism, punk culture, and current socio-political events. His work merges traditional portrait techniques with urban art practices such as stenciling and paste-up.

His art often tackles urgent themes—war, displacement, social injustice, identity crisis, and collective memory. Denning’s signature style features raw brushwork, emotionally charged figures, and a typically dark, dramatic palette that conveys a sense of urgency and unease.

A key figure in the European street art scene since the early 2000s, Denning has left his mark on the streets of Paris, Rome, and London, while also exhibiting in galleries worldwide. He is also the founder of the Neomodernism collective, bringing together figurative and critically minded artists.
