Behind the pseudonym Ensemble Réel are two brothers: Hugues and Medy. Having grown up in Ris-Orangis with a sculptor father and a mother passionate about crafts, they were immersed in a rich and diverse cultural world, frequenting museums in Paris and regional exhibitions. It was in this context that the brothers, true free spirits, taught themselves drawing and painting. In their teens, this initially recreational practice evolved into a genuine passion with the discovery of graffiti. In 2017, the idea of collaborative works led to the creation of the duo Ensemble Réel. From then on, Hugues and Medy launched a collaborative production; their two artistic worlds enriching each other with nuances and narratives. Their studio works incorporate various recycled materials and are constantly enriched by new technical and artistic explorations. Ensemble Réel has participated in group and solo exhibitions, festivals, and participatory urban planning projects.
